Homework / Late Work
Homework will be given on a regular basis. The purpose of homework is to review and practice concepts that were presented in class. It is extremely important that the students complete the entire assignment on time and to the best of their ability. Late work will be accepted but students will have one week to turn in any late assignments but they will lose 10% of the grade for each day late. After one week, late work will not be accepted. Chronic late work will require a parent-teacher-student conference and a teacher-student contract. Homework assignment will be posted on my school web page [email protected].
Retest/Resubmit
Test correction procedure for math.
You will have one week to complete test corrections. The week will begin on the day that your graded test is handed back to you.
You may get help from your classmates, parents,or teacher. However, make sure you understand your errors enough to explain them clearly.
You must do the following on a separate sheet of paper for each incorrect problem or question on the test:
Example sentences:
Cell Phone Policy
Between 7:45 and 2:45, cell phones should be in your locker. Use your lock to keep your valuables safe.
Unauthorized use of the phone will result in the following:
1st offense: phone will be held by the teacher until the end of the day
2nd offense: phone will be held by the teacher until the end of the day and a phone call to parents
3rd offense: phone will be given to administration and phone may be picked up by parents
Recommendations
If you would like a recommendation from a teacher, please submit a request at least two weeks in advance. We may ask you for additional information in order to help us write a stronger letter. Please note that teachers are not obligated to write references for any student who ask us. We strive to write references when we can be very positive and specific about students' strengthen.

You must do the following on a separate sheet of paper for each incorrect problem or question on the test:
- Number the problem or question and rewrite it.
- Write at least 2 complete sentences explaining what your error was and what you need to do to correct it. Write enough to show you understand it now.
- Show all work to correct the problem or question and include the right answer.
Example sentences:
- I made a mistake with exponent rules in the original expression. I should have added the exponents, but instead I multiplied them. To fix this i would have to use the product rule instead of the power rule. (Then show problem and accompanying work.)
- My error was a simple multiplication mistake. The volume for the cylinder was twice as big as it should be because I accidentally multiplied the height and area of the base incorrectly. I wrote that 6 x 4 = 48. It was just a silly mistake. ( Then show accompanying work.)
